Quesería Bolaños hosted this morning the act of donation of one of its Super Cheeses to the Food Bank, this time weighing 120 kilos, in a massive event in which the media were witnesses of exception of the first cut of the mammoth cheese , by Aarón Hernández and his father Manolo Hernández, together with Pedro Llorca (President of the Food Bank), with the help of a stainless steel cable.
The cheese, made with 900 liters of goat’s milk from Gran Canaria, has needed about 8 months of maturation, in a laborious process in which it has had to be turned every 15 days, to apply oil and paprika, in order to avoid the cheese may crack due to its heavy weight.
A total of 400 vacuum-packed wedges will be distributed by the Food Bank in the coming days, taking a piece of Bolanos Cheese to 400 needy families.
At the end of the event, Pedro Llorca stamped his signature in the Quesos Bolaños guestbook, immortalizing an act of solidarity that once again endorses the social commitment of this company from Gran Canaria with the most disadvantaged and even more so in current times in which the health and social crisis caused by COVID-19 has multiplied by 40% the number of people in need in the province of Las Palmas.
