Aarón Hernández: “Our family has always actively collaborated with the Food Bank”

The manager of Quesos Bolaños spoke to the media to discuss the reasons for the generous donation intended to share their humble contribution in the current situation of need that exists in Canarian society

A 120 kg cheese to supply 400 needy families

“We have specialized in making large cheeses and due to the situation of need that has been generated worldwide, we have decided to donate a 120-kilo cheese, which although we are aware that we will not be able to feed all the people who they need it, but we will be able to generate illusion in those 400 needy families who can receive one of our wedges of this Bolanos Super Cheese that we have donated to the Food Bank ”.

“It is going to be cut into wedges of approximately 300 grams each and we will vacuum pack it with its corresponding label. We estimate that about 400 wedges can be cut, which will be distributed next week to the families that need it most ”.

Between 7 and 8 months of healing

“This cheese was made in January, it is made with raw goat’s milk from the island of Gran Canaria and we have put a little paprika on the surface, which gives it a more attractive color and flavor in the areas closest to the cheese rind ”.

Hand in hand with the Food Bank

“Our family has always actively collaborated with the Food Bank with some batches each month, since my grandfather’s time we have always tried to do our bit and we hope that all the companies and citizens who can, will help at this time in the that so many families need help ”.

The record is set at 220 kilos

“This year we broke the record, with a 220 kg cheese and I don’t think we will exceed that size anymore. Now it is necessary to continue curing it, because a cheese of that size may need between 2 and 3 years to have a more powerful and tasty flavor ”.
